Slip Sliding Away

I got Issabella a slip and slide on Sunday. I showed her how to use it and she just laughed at me. Seth showed her how to us it and she cried. Here are a few pics and a few videos of her using it.

Just my toes Mommy!
Before she got use to it.

Bucket of fun!

Dig, Dig!

A couple of weekends ago Seth spent the day helping his brother on their property. They are getting ready to build a home and need to fill some things in. So Seth spent time in the excavator and spreading manure. Fun Fun! Issabella wanted to help and in the video you can hear a peeping sound and that is Issabella moving the controls all at once.
Such a happy pair!

And a random photo of our silly Issabella!
Doesn't everyone wear their new undies on their head when they buy them?

2 years, 24 Months, 731 days

On April 21, 2012 Issabella turned 2 years old.
Where has the time gone. I always hear people saying that time will fly by. It sure does. For her 2nd birthday she woke up and had three presents waiting for her. A baby stroller, and Rocky and Cece dolls. After a nutritious breakfast of McDonald's, we left for Chicago.

You are two!

We started our day at the Lincoln Park Zoo. This is a wonderful zoo tucked into the north side of Chicago. A lot of the animals we being super lazy and we did not see a lot of movement from the animals. Issabella enjoyed watching the sea otters and the polar bear.

Hey look at me.
Stare down.
First Carousel ride.
After our visit to the zoo we went and ate at The Rainforest Cafe. We even were seated at the same table that we sat at on Issabella's first birthday. Issabella was super tired and at one point even layed her head on the table. That all changed when the Rainforest Cafe "mascot" came out to greet people. Issabella did not want Cha Cha anywhere near her and even attempted to crawl her way up Seth. She kept an eye on him until he left the room and she still kept looking over her shoulder.

It's my party and I can sleep if I want to.
No Cha Cha!
After lunch we walked up to American Girl and she got to pick out a baby doll. I was not sure if this was really something she needed. They are expensive and I was not sure if she would really play with it. I am so glad we got one. She plays with it everyday and makes us change its clothes.
Look daddy at me baby!
Love our little family!

The following day friends and family came over to celebrate Issabella. We planned on having her party outside. Is was around 65 but it was so windy. So we all packed into our home. Anyone who has been here knows we have a small home. It did not matter if we had room to move around as long as the kids had fun. And they sure did. Issabella got some nice toys and some clothes. She had the most fun playing with her friends in the play tent Aunt Jen got her.
I love this picture...blowing her bangs.

We had a great time and I can't believe our little girl is 2.

Easter 2012 was a great one. We spent the week down in Brookston. It was my spring break and Seth took the week off. Earlier in the week went to the Children's Museum in Indy. That is for another post. When Issabella woke up on Easter she could not believe there was a Woody doll, a Mickey Mouse, and Shake it Up all waiting for her in her basket. She loves all three and was even more excited when she saw that they Easter Bunny had left large plastic eggs in her room and the hallway full of Toy Story characters. We had an Easter egg hunt with all of Seth's family and a yummy lunch. Then we went to my parents house and got Easter baskets at their house too. The Easter bunny sure was busy this year.

The Easter Bunny was very good to Issabella.

I think everyone should have jelly beans and Canterbury eggs for breakfast.

It did not take her long to figure out what was going on.

She was a good egg spotter.

She had to open everyone before she put it into her basket to see what was inside.

Daddy had to help her with the one.

Happy Easter from the Owens family.

One last one.

She is holding Woody just like Andy does in the movie Toy Story.

Good Times

My sister sent me these pictures this week. They are from our annual Pumpkins in the Park in Chicago. So many great memories with some special people.

I hope she loves this city as much as I do.
They get their picture taken every year at this spot.

Good times...this is the place our friendship started four years ago. I am lucky to have a great friend in Lisa!

Ice Cream

Earlier in the week we went to my parent's house and had dinner. On the way home Issabella and I stopped and got an ice cream cone. She ate the whole thing. I could not believe it!

Issabella enjoying a Dairy Queen ice cream cone.

I think I might have something on my face and hands mom!

I need another napkin.

Love

Dear Issabella,
Yesterday you had to go and see a special doctor. This doctor ordered blood work for you and we had no idea how much blood they were going to take. It ended up being nine tubes/viles of blood. You then had to have a sweat test. The sweat test has to be done again because you did not sweat enough. So we will go  back again next Tuesday. You were a real trooper.

Your daddy and I love you so much and it was hard to see you so upset when they were drawing you blood. You were still polite when they were taking your blood saying please and thank you. That's our girl.

This first picture is of you after you had your blood drawn and waiting for your sweat. We had to wait 30 mins with your arm wrapped up that way.

After we left the hospital we went over to Red Lobster for a late lunch. You loved sitting by the fish tank and were very hungry. You had your chicken fingers, my shrimp linguine, and some of daddy's lobster tail.  After eating we told you that you could go to the Disney store and get a toy. You wanted a Jessie stuffed animal. They did not have any and so you got a Buzz.

When you got home from your big day you told me that you wanted your jammies on and that they must be your Minnie Mouse ones. This is how your daddy and I found you a few minutes later.

Issabella your daddy and I love you very much and would do anything for you. I wish I could have had them take my blood and not have you be in pain. You are the sunshine in our lives Issabella, we can't even imagine our lives without you. You are our butter!

Love, Mommy and Daddy
