We enjoyed watching you run around your room and show it off to your cousins, (who told you it was cool)!

You tried sleeping in your new bed. The first night you slept in it for four hours. The second night you wanted to sleep in your pack n play in your new room. When it was time to take a nap you ran into your room and climbed into your bed. You did not stay long. Daddy and I heard the little pitter patter of your feet. We know that you will get use to it.

Issabella had her Christmas sing a long tonight at her school. She started off just sitting on the church step. But as you can see in this video...she was loving all of the attention.

We had our first snowfall on Friday and the Owens' house put up the tree Friday night.

Last year we made a hand print ornament with Issabella we did it again this year.

Saturday Issabella and I went to the mall. They were having a Charlie Brown Christmas party. I thought they were going to have the Charile Brown characters but they had Frosty and Rudolph. She was not liking them. In this picture is is keeping her eyes on Frosty.

Every girl like Starbucks and Cake Pops. Yummy I love girl time!

Pumpkin Snowmen

I put up some outside Christmas lights and Seth, Issa, and I made these pumpkin snowmen. Earlier this fall when we went and got the pumpkins the pumpkin patch had made pumpkin scarecrows. So we tried making snowmen with them today. I think the all orange one is going to get some mittens.

Issabella is just as tall as this snowman.

The little snowman on the right is Issabella's favorite. She likes talking to it.!

Issabella has taken to looking at magazines that have come in the mail. Last night I was looking at Old Navy online for her Christmas PJ's. She squealed when she saw these...

She had to get a closer look. Seth and I get her a pair of PJs to wear on Christmas eve.

And I can not post without sharing a picture of Issabella. She has been sick and has to do breathing treatments for the next few weeks. The first few days were bad, because we had to hold her down. But she is getting better and last night let us put the mask on her.

Issabella and I headed back to Indiana Beach a few weeks ago. We went in to eat and then walk around. She loved watching people. She was really into watching the people on the zip line.

I got her a smartie sucker and she would not let it go.

15 Months

Dear Issabella,

On July 21, 2011 you turned 15 months old. You have 11 teeth and use your teeth for everything..even opening up things. You have become very fond of Minnie Mouse. You still like to dance and when you hear Brittany Spears or Katy Perry on the radio you raise your hands and head bob to the music.

You still enjoy talking to Chubs but you have started to tell him "go" in a very sturn voice. Poor Chubs he has done nothing wrong.

You went to the doctor and got three more shots and they weighed you and you weigh a big 19 pounds and 2 ounces. You are 30 inches longs.

Not really wanting the nurse to listen to your heart.

Taste of Chicago 2011

We love the Taste of Chicago! This year Kelly and Patrick joined us. They had not been to Chicago in over 14 years. It was fun to take them. I think I only tried one new food item this year...deep fried green beans...they were yummy. Issabella ate half of them.

We always get our picture taken by Buckingham Fountain. This is were Seth asked me to marry him three years ago. This year Issabella was awake for the picture. She was just two months old last year.

We ate for a little bit and then walked uptown. We visited the American Girl store and Issabella really wanted a baby doll. I think this might be a good 2nd birthday gift. She could go up and pick one out. I love this picture of Seth and Patrick in the background.

We had a fun time and enjoyed our time with Patrick and Kelly.

ICOO Camp 2011

For the past week we have been down at Ross Camp in West Lafayette at the Indiana Conservation Officers Organization Camp. Seth was an officer counselor for the third time. Issabella and I spent five night with him. We had a good time. Our tent was big and we were able to put Issabella pack n play in it along with all our stuff and queen size air mattress. We had to leave Thursday night because Issabella was crying so hard. She had two teeth come in.

Monday was my first day of summer break. Issabella, Carter, Jenn, and I went to South Bend and cruised Old Navy and Target. Then we had dinner at Steak n Shake! Here are a few pictures from our afternoon together.

It all started on Issabella's first birthday. We were at the Shedd Aquarium and Seth and I stopped and got a snack. Yummy popcorn and a cherry coke. Issabella had some puffs. I got up to get a napkin and come back and there is Issabella standing next to Seth eating popcorn. It was like she has been doing it for a long time. I asked Seth how did she know to eat popcorn. Seth gets a big smile on his face and says we do it all the time at home. WHAT? I stop laughing and join them in eating. We are very lucky that Seth spends at least two days a week home with Issabella when I am at work...I never knew they were munching on popcorn.

Cozy Coupe

Issabella got a Little Tykes Cozy Coupe from her Uncle Caleb, Aunt Gusta, and Ryker. Seth and I put it together Sunday. It took the two of us and a bar of soap. Issabella played in the car all day Sunday. Today I pushed her around the yard, back into the woods, and down the street for about 45 minutes. She just sat in the car talking to me and looking out into the fields.

Since we are talking about Little Tykes...here is a picture of Issabella playing with the Little Tykes playhouse that Casi and I played with when we were little. I am so lucky that my dad saved it and now Issabella gets to play with it.

Wherever Issabella is Chubs shall follow...that is him laying in the background.

1 Year...12 Months...365 Days!

Dear Issabella,

You are ONE! I can't believe you are one! You are getting so big! For your first birthday daddy and I took you to Chicago!
We went to the Shed Aquarium and Rainforest Cafe! At the Shed you loved the turtles and fish.

After the Aquarium we walked to the Rainforest Cafe...it was a LONG walk. You got your very own ice cream sundae and the waiter and waitress sang to you.

On Saturday you had your first birthday party. Your family and friends joined you in partying. We borrowed a bounce house from Uncle Zack and Aunt Heather. Your friends Carter and Logan loved bouncing with you. You continued to slide down the slide head first. You giggled all the way down.

You had your very own mini cake topped with strawberry icing. You were very slow and easy at first and by the end you had the whole plate up in your face.

You got some nice gifts and some much needed pjs and clothes.

Swimming with Daddy!

Daddy has taken the next few weeks off work. Today you went with him to water safety at Notre Dame! Daddy has been helping teach fourth graders about water safety for a long time. Today you joined him and got to swim in the shallow pool! You really enjoyed yourself! After swimming you went out with the gang and ate at Ponderosa! Mommy was sad she missed it but so happy you have these special times with daddy! He loves you so much!

Hello Warm Weather!

Yesterday and Today have been such great days. They are the last two days before I have to go back to work after spring break. The weather has been in the 70s and the sun has been shining. On Saturday we got Issabella's 1 year pictures taken. My dear friend Lisa got me a gift certificate after Issabella was born from a photographer friend of hers. I can't wait to see how they turned out.
Today Sunday we spent the day outside down in Brookston. Issabella and I played on the hay wagon and daddy even pulled us around the drive way on it.

Seth got a new to us feed grinder and he tried it out today and it works great! This will save us some money.

We also had another calf born today. I was unable to get a picture of it because the mom took it up the hill side and we can't see it. We watched it take its first steps. It kind of looked like Issabella walking (a little tipsy).

Getting Ready for a Party!

Where's Daddy?

Issabella LOVES to lay in bed with us and play where's daddy, mommy, Issabella. Tonight Seth was going to take a nap after a long day of water training. Issabella had other ideas. She climbed all over him.

Seth covered his face up and I asked where's daddy? She sneaks up and pulls the cover off his face and giggles.

She laughs even harder if you say boo when she pulls the cover off. This is something that all three of us love. It is the best on the weekends when we can just lounge and hangout in bed.

When Seth brings Issabella home he puts her by the back door and she plays with Chubs. Yesterday she decided that was not good enough and see attempted to go out the door onto the back porch. You attended your first sock hop at Indian Trail on 2-25-11. You wore your pink tutu that Grammy Sue got you and you rocked it. At one point you had 13 students around you and you were in the middle just living it up. I held your hands and you danced! You love music and it really showed.

Dear Issabella!

This has been a great month for you. From 8 months to 9 months you have gotten your first teeth, learned to say mama, and nod your head. You stand and cruise around the furniture and reach as far as your little arms will reach. We have to have the end tables cleared off because you pull everything off and exam it.

You had your first Christmas and really enjoyed eating the wrapping paper. Right now you are loving your shopping cart from Aunt Gusta, Uncle Caleb, and Ryker. In your shopping cart goes Violet, your dog that sings from Grandpa and Grandma Painton.

Daddy took you to the doctor today for your 9 month appointment and you weighed 15 and 1/2 pounds. The doctor said you are going to be small but mighty...we already new that!

You got a bigger car seat and your first pair of shoes.

Week two of Project Life...365 found us shopping, snowed in , and snuggling!

You started the week off Dancing with Aunt Casi. She is addicted to Dance Party 2!

Sunday it started to snow and it snowed for four days. We even got Wednesday off school!

Monday night you thought butter sounded good. This is a fast cell phone picture...Daddy and I got a good laugh!

You love playing with your Little People Blocks...so intense!

Wednesday was a snow day and we ventured up to Target. You got your first taste of Starbucks...yes it was only apple juice. You now are a big fan of juice boxes!

On New Years Day you finally got your first two teeth. We have been trying for days to get a picture. So we forced you into a picture! You almost have a top one out!

We all have colds and are in snuggle mode!

My goal this year is to take a picture related to Issabella everyday for the year 2011. I think it is called Project 365. Here are the pictures for the first seven days of January!

Day 1: Shopping with mommy at Target. People were commenting on how cute you were. You had just finished a nap. It was like I was boring you with Target.

Day 2: Sleeping on the floor in Brookston. Daddy took this picture!

Day 3: This is you being a big girl sleeping all night!

Day 4: Is also a picture of you sleeping in your crib...I just could not get it to load. Daddy and I are loving the fact that you are sleeping 11-12 hours!

Christmas 2010

Dear Issabella,

Our first Christmas was wonderful. We stayed home and woke up to Santa and gifts from Mommy and Daddy! Santa brought you a wooden box that has things for you to do on all four sides and the top has a beads, animals that move. From mommy and daddy you got some little people toys...you love your little people.

Santa brought you a maraca..you shake it all the time!

Aunt Casi came over in the evening and brought you a big box that you thought was so fun to crawl on. Inside the box was a little rocking chair, just your size.

The day after Christmas we went to Grandpa and Grandma's house and had Christmas there.

You were showing your little cousin just who was in charge, but he thought you were funny.

You helped Grandma open gifts and we had to keep the wrapping paper out of your mouth. You had a great 1st Christmas.

Issabella and Carter had their first gift exchange on 12-19-10. I wonder if they will one day be like their moms and tell each other what they want. Jen and I buy our gifts for each other when we go to Chicago. This year she got new tennis shoes and I got a box of goodies from Lush! (love their soap)

Dear Issabella,

You turned 8 months old on December 21, 2010. You crawl everywhere, stand up and have attempted to stand without holding on to anything. You still have no teeth. Your favorite and only words are Hi Dada! Whenever your daddy comes into the room from work it's "Hi, Dada!"

This is a picture of you wearing my angel headband...notice the pacifier you have stuck on your thumb...you have been very attached to your pacifier the past few days!

Here is what we remember right now about you...

*Hi Dada is your favorite saying
*You want to eat by yourself...which we don't let you have the spoon and you get really mad. We have found organic fruit smoothies that you can suck out of the pouch and you really like those.

Birthday Fries!

Issabella got her first taste of french fries. For my birthday Seth and Issabella took me out to Red Robin...love me some Red Robin. Issabella slept the whole time and woke up just as the bill came. So we put her in a high chair and feed her some of her food. The waitress asked if we wanted some more fries (it's bottomless fries at Red Robin). We got a basket and Issabella instantly wanted to know what we had. So Seth let her chew on one. For a girl who has no teeth she sure knows how to chew.

Issabella has been crawling and pulling herself up to stand! This has caused her to take short hard naps! Today this is how she passed out in her crib! We had to lower her crib because on Thanksgiving she learned how to pull herself up. Grandma Great was worried that we were not going to lower it and said we should put a bell on Issabella so we knew when she was standing up. Sorry Granny no bell!

Dear Issabella,

You turned 7 months old on 11-21-10. You are scooting all around. You don't get up and "crawl" you move with all your arms. You sure are strong! You just discovered that the kitchen has tile and are very interested in the tile floor. You had your first experience with snow this month. You just were not sure what was hitting your face. You are quite the rock star when you go shopping with mommy and daddy! People comment on how cute you are and you smile back and them.

2010 Pumpkin Carving

A few weeks ago Issabella, Seth, Casi, Sam, Nichole, Wrigley, and Granny went over to Dad and Linda's for some pumpkin carving.

This was Issabella's first time with a pumpkin and she seemed intrested in the pumpkins.

I think she was trying to fit into the pumpkin.

Here Granny is reading Issabella her farm book.

Maybe next year Issabella will pull out her own pumpkin guts!

Dear Issabella,

On October 21, 2010 you turned 6 months old! Mommy took you to the doctor on 10-25-10for your check up. You had to get three shots and you were not to happy about that. You were fussy the rest of the day. Daddy and I had a bet going. We always do when you go to the doctor. We try to see who guesses your weight correct. Daddy guessed 14lbs 6oz and I guessed 14lbs 2ozs. You only weighed 14lbs, so we both lost!

We had your six month picture taken on 10-22-10 and you were not super excited about it. You only gave us big smiles when Cooper the dog was playing with you. You could not get enough of that little dog.

Here is what we remember about this time...
*you are taking baths in the "big" tub
*you can sit up
*you still have no teeth
*you don't like to sit still
*you have been sleeping 10 hours getting up drinking a bottle and then going back to sleep for 2 hours
*you can pull yourself up while holding on to mommy
*you still love to swing

Pumpkins in the Park 2010

Saturday Issabella, Casi, Lisa, Logan, and I did the 11th annual Pumpkins in the Park in Chicago. We had a great time and Issabella and Logan dressed up. Issabella was a peacock and Logan was a monkey! Everyone commented on how cute the were. I think they were cute too.

They were very interested in the leaves and pumpkins.

When I got done walking Lisa had already finished because she ran. She said she had to stop and change a diaper and I told her I stopped becasue I had to feed Issabella. Boy have times changed from when we ran our other races....but it is oh so good.

What a Week.

It all started with you being peed on by a tree frog. He hopped on the tray of your stroller and you had no fear and reached down and picked him up. As soon as you touched him, he peed all over your neck. Daddy had to pull the little guy out of your grip.

Your first tooth is starting to poke through. You are putting anything in the left side of your mouth to chew on.

You attended your first fun fair. For the first hour mommy carried you in the carrier and you laughed and giggled while all the people commented on how cute your were and how pretty the sunflower was in your hair.

Today at the farmers market you were the main attraction. Everyone kept pointing and telling other people to look at you. Multiple people stopped us and said how happy and what a beautiful smile you had. At one point when mommy was buying something you stared down two ladies. When they finally said hi to you, you smile and babbled back. They commented on how you waited to smile til they said hi to you. I said that you get that from the dog. He does the same thing.

Next to our house we have a bean field. Tonight the farmer was cutting/harvesting them. Seth took Issabella out to watch. She watched that green machine (Combine) go back and forth.

Dear Issabella,

You turned 5 months on September 21, 2010. We had to take you to the doctor last Friday because you were not feeling well. It turned out that you had an ear infection in your right ear. You were pretty crabby, but that is understandable for someone being so small and in pain. After four days you finally started smiling again.

In the past month you have started to inchworm your way to get something if it is close to you. It is pretty funny because you put your face on the ground and put your butt in the air and move a little bit. Once step closer to crawling.

You giggle and giggle, and it is so cute. You still love the water and are enjoying playing with toys in the tub. You also have become very attracted to Chubs. When we are outside and he walks by you grab his hair and try to pet him. He lets you but looks at us, like please make her stop!

You have been a little crazy girl the past week....really starting to show your personalty.

Labor Day Weekend 2010

Issabella experienced her first Labor Day weekend and Blueberry Festival. We spent Friday evening with Jenn and Carter at the park exploring the booths. On Saturday we went over to granny's house and granny fed Issabella her dinner. Issabella was so good and did not get anything on granny's floor.

On Sunday night we watched the fireworks from granny's back porch...the fire balls are still loud there!

Issabella has been spending a lot of her time swinging in the backyard. Here are a few pictures of her swinging!

Dear Issabella,

On August 21, 2010 you turned 4 months old. Daddy took you to the doctor for your check up. You had to get three shots. He said you cried more this time, then when you got them at 2 months. You weighed 12lbs 4oz and were 25in long. Your head crew almost 5 inches and now your head is in the 25% tile instead of the 10% tile. You have discovered your feet and love to lay on your back and try to get both of them by your mouth. Mommy went back to work this month and you have been spending most of your days with daddy. You and him have really became bff. He has taught you to take long naps. When daddy can't be home with you you go to daycare a few times a week. The ladies that watch you say you are so sweet and love to watch everything that is going on. We are really lucky and they care for you in a loving way and will change your cloth diapers. In this month you have started to twirl your hair when you are tired and trying to go to sleep...it is super cute! We love you and love when all three of us snuggle in bed. You like the family walks we take...you sit in the stroller and watch Chubs. Love you Peanut!

Relaxing Sunday

The weather today was wonderful. It was only around 75 degrees and breezy. Issabella and I spent a lazy day together while Seth was at work. I really should say Issabella had a lazy day...she slept til 10:30. She only got up at 6:30 to eat and then went back to bed. Here are a few pictures from our day together...

It took Chubs a few minutes to figure out how to get to his food bowl. He kept looking at the blanket and then at Issabella...he finally put one paw on it and took a chance. She watched him eat his whole bowl of food.

Dear Aunt Casi,

I miss you! I hope you are having fun in Japan! I have learned a few new things since you have been gone. I can roll over from my back to my tummy and my tummy to my back. I am starting to get a tooth. By the time you see me I bet I will have it. Mommy misses you too, she sometimes picks up her phone to call you and then remembers you are in Japan. I can't wait to see you and give you a big wet kiss...I am really drooling!

I made this little card today while Issabella was napping...

This morning when Issabella and I woke up we made Chewy Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies. Our friend Brook intrduced us to them a few years back. Seth loves cranberries and this is a great way to use them...super yummy! Here is Issabella helping me. I talked with her the whole time...I was telling her how to make them and she sat in her little chair just listening to me.
